Cannot create a record in BOM journal transactions (ProdJournalBOM

Hello,

My company is using AX2009 SP1. Recently, we have tried to calculate costing
versions. This has caused to produce the following error when I am starting a
production order. I am not sure how to fix this.

"Cannot create a record in BOM journal transactions (ProdJournalBOM).
Voucher: , 8/12/2009. The record already exists."

I would greatly appreciate for anyone's help.

Hi there,

The error message "the record already exists" is usually related to an
unique index on the table.
If I see at your error message, it looks as if the voucher number is missing.
Check how the voucher number is assigned in the specific production journal.
(Under Production - Setup - Journal names, heading voucher. Type of voucher
assignment) Is the number sequence defined as well?

Hello Willy,

Thanks for your response. When I looked at the journal names - there are
three types of journal setup - Reported as finished, Picking list and route
card. The voucher series number sequece is also defined. We have the system
setup to create picklist journal and route care journal at Update>START. It
was functioning accordingly but however, I have seen the error being flagged
after we did the costing version calculation under Inventory Management >
Periodic > Costing Versions > Calculations to update the BOM price.

It sounds wired but, anyone's help is greatly appreciated.
